Radha

Our English ma'am at college thinks that she is the lion and the college is her den. She makes all our rules and makes sure that we follow them. All the principal can do is obey although it should be the other way around. She has a frame of about 6' and must weigh 200 lbs. so no one dares stand in front of her. She likes to decide what type of dress we are to wear at college, where we should sit, what we should eat and the lot.

It seems she takes great pleasure in plaguing us. The first thing she does after entering the class is ask who have not brought their books and with a smile will send them out.

She has the irksome habit of tossing anecdotes, sayings at all the wrong moments. A few classes back she announced - after catching a relatively larger number of students without books - " If people don't follow the beaten path then they should be beaten through it. ". Our resident " BIG MOUTH " ( most have learnt to ignore the ma'am ) called out that the saying was debatable ( She has guts ) and all hell decended on our earthly abode. Her nose flared up she started shouting ,"What do you think of your self? How dare you challenge me? ( At this point, I could swear I saw smoke comming out of her ears ) Come to the principal. I will see to it that you get your like deserts." It took much explaining but we finally brought her under control.

Screammm Street

Have to bunk college tomorrow for writing some tests. Also have to attend that French Sirs class in the morning. Still waiting for some miracle to brighten my week. MLTR will be performing in the city this this week. Their songs are great. Don't know how I am going to go to the concert. Will have to do some serious begging for that.

My #&*^^%$@#@? WEEK

My week has had an omnious beginning. In the morning, at college, my science teacher shouted at me for my incomplete practical journal.I explained how I had "managed" to lose my journal but to no avail. In the evening, my maths tuition sir made me write an imposition ( I missed writing a test last week ) due to which I missed my French class. He is gonna make shish kebab out of me. And that god damned management of my college announced that they are against me enjoying my favorite festival. They have kept the semester exam over Durga puja!

I am going to study integration calculas for writing my missed test. Don't know what I am gonna do in Maths. If I don't study now, I am sure to fail in my finals. Then goodbye blogs, goodbye girls and goodbye mutton biryani.

Lazy Me ......

I am enjoying a rather leisure morning. Think I should complete the Ali - The Great's imposition but who cares anyway. What can happen? He will take me to the principal? Let him. I too have things to discuss with him.

I am really enjoying this day with my Parents. Mom prepared a wonderful meal of chapatti and chole ( a dish made of pigeon gram ) . My sister came from school rather early and I entertained myself by irritating her a bit. I think I will write a test today ( If I feel like it ).
I'll keep posting.

Another Day of Hell

Today college was such a drag. Out of the total 9 periods that we had 2 were English of Radha - the terrible ( she believes she owns the college ), 2 periods of Ali - he teaches maths or something like that, 2 periods of French - This Ma'am is much better than that sir of mine - a disgrace to private coachers. Ali today caught me talking ( I am such an idiot. ugh! ). He said that my notes are not tidy enough. What does he want? .... stencilled notes??. We call Ali "UnderTaker" for his ghost like looks. Theres a rumour that acid got spilt on his face. He comes to college on his bike. His helmet has "STUD" and "NINJA" stencilled on it.

Yesterday my biology tuition sir announced that there will be no bio-test this week. God bless him. Chemistry tuition sir announced that he will be cancelling a class this week as he seems to have got viral fever. God bless viral fever. These change of plans means that I will be able to give the 7 tests ( now 6 ).

French Sucks Big Time

Yesterday that damn French sir of mine called me up. The reason - I did not attend one class. First of all he was the one giving continuous holidays - he was suffering from chicken pox ( God is Great!! ) - and second that he didn't inform me. And my god - he was crying on the phone too.Today theres chemistry class . Let see what new ways sir has found to taunt us ( me especially ). Biology class is there too but its a breeze.

Got 7 tests that have be written this week itself and a french test next week. Have to study for the french test this time. Don't know how I will accomplish that. Pray for me. I'll keep posting.

Hell and Living it

Life is just turning out hell for me. At home my parents are pestering me to study, at college the teachers are taking tests without teaching much and at the classes the sirs are making me slog like a donkey. Can't blame them ... for this is a crucial year for me as I will be giving my "10 + 2" exams Feb. next year. My chemistry sir is a class apart. Altough his teaching isn't bad he really knows how to taunt us. I have been his scape goat for a long time and now I seem to have started studying ( anyone will after they have gone through what I have gone ) for I am getting decent marks.

I miss my English teacher from my old school. She is a looker and a damn good teacher too and I make sure that I keep seeing her once in a while.I miss my old school terribly.

French sucks. Don't get me wrong ... I have nothing against the French. Its just that my present French sir is one of a kind. Joining his class was my worst decision till date. He doesn't teach anything ( his time is spent flirting with the girls ) and when we don't study for his tests he literally cries. His choisiest sentences are "You don't study what I teach, so you have no right to call me sir" - so what do we call him .... ****?? ( That happens to be his name ). His other dialogues include "I will stop classes for French because you all not studying". He will be doing a big favor by doing that. I am not the only person with such low opinions about him. Once in his class only 1 student was present where 16 students should be there.

The Elephant Headed God

This is the time of the year when people from all over Maharashtra celebrate "Ganesh Utsav".It is the festival of the Elephant God, the son of Durga - The source of all Power or Shakti and Shiva - The Destroyer. Every other street corner has a Ganesh pandal. Worshipping Ganesh is believed to ensure the success of everything that is done that day.

This festival was started by Lokmanya Tilak, a freedom fighter, during the freedom stuggle against the English to unite all Maharashtrians. It was through these types of Public Festivals that the leaders spread their thoughts and revolutionary ideas among the young and old alike.

The Ganesh Festival is celebrated in India in the month September. A large number flock to these pandals at all times of the day as well as night. Its open through out the night so people can visit at their convinience. The Ganesh idol is kept for around 10 days maximum. After that, it is emmersed in a lake or the sea. This is done as a gesture to God that what we are taking from him we are returning back as the idols are supposed to be made of mud. The best part of the festival is the emmersion where we can dance as much as we want and have a gala time.

LIFE IN THE BIG CITY

To give a short introduction of myself - I hail from India and live in a place where (I have been brought to believe ) most Indians dream of living - MUMBAI.Well .... its not proper Mumbai but a suburban area just outside Mumbai. I am a teenager with 2 eyes, 2 ears, 2 hands,2 legs ................... . In other words I am just the typical, most average Rock-lover ( By Rock I mean the MUSIC kind ) teenager that you are sure to find in most homes in India. I have a G n R , Audio Slave,Pantera, Korn and a Linkin Park poster in my room . I enjoy rock climbing , trekking, rapling ,walks in nature parks, listening to good music ( I don't discriminate between pop , classical and rock ) and the occasional good book.

Mumbai is a fantastic place to live in i.e if you know how to survive. In addition to the people who are out to con you ,there are the rampaging cars, the pollution, the stinking roads ( not every where -mind you ), The street dogs who are out to destroy your good nights sleep and the equally annoying "Dog - Lovers" who make sure that the dogs have a fairy - tale life. Well.....if they love the dogs so much why dont they keep them in their homes !? That way everyone will be happy. If you are planning to visit India never do it in the monsoon ... unless of course you know and love swimming coz at that time it not only rains "Cats and Dogs" but also "Elephants and Hippos". I have heard Englishmen say that they know all about rains .They should visit Monsoon India if they want to experience real rainfall.

This monsoon we were faced with a natural calamity with rainfall as high as 944 mm in a single day ( a record ! ). Many parts of Mumbai were flooded with the water level rising upto 7 '. Although the human toll was not as high as KATRINA it was pretty high with a high number of animals dying too ( amazingly not a single dog perished!! ). The heavy rains had left all infrastructure in ruins which is being put in order. May such calamities never ever happen where people who survive are sapped of their will to survive.
